U.K.'s ROCK OF AGES Festival Rescheduled For November
April 21, 2009The third Rock Of Ages festival, which was previously scheduled to take place June 20-21, 2009 at the 2,000-capacity facility Barco 2 in Swansea, U.K., has been rescheduled for November 20-22. The organizers say, "Most of the original lineup has been reconfirmed and of those that haven't, we are still waiting for a couple of people to get back to us with definites.
"The new venue, despite a smaller overall capacity, will feature two stages, one of 500-capacity (outdoor) and one of 150-capacity (indoor). This has enabled the organisers, Rock Of Ages Entertainment, to increase the bill from 28 bands to 60 bands, and is taking submissions from bands via the myspace for the new slots opened up for bands.
"Bands can apply via www.myspace.com/rockofagesfest.
"All other information is [to be confirmed] at the present time, however, the organisers aim to have the event on sale again by the end of April!"
Previous headliners of the event have included TYGERS OF PAN TANG, GIRLSCHOOL, WAYSTED, BLITZKRIEG (who went on to play Hard Rock Hell) as well as formerIRON MAIDEN vocalist Blaze Bayley. 2007's Rock Of Ages festival, held at the 500-capacity The Palace in Tamworth, also featured the official WOLFSBANE reunion and incredible Frontiers Records signing DANTE FOX.
